For Economics and Related Fields
MyTern is a desktop-based internship search and matching tool designed to help students discover relevant companies and internship opportunities in one place. Instead of browsing multiple websites or job boards, students can use MyTern to explore organizations that have offered internships in Economics and related fields.
Searching for internships, especially in Economics and related domains, can be time-consuming and frustrating. When students search online, they often encounter mixed results from unrelated fields, generic job postings, or opportunities unrelated to their academic background. Many platforms are optimized for engineering, software, or generic internship categories, which makes it difficult for students from these domains to filter opportunities that are actually relevant to them.
Also, many students are not always sure what to search, where to apply, or what types of internships are suitable for their field. When they go online, they often find a mix of unrelated results or generic postings that do not clearly indicate whether they are a good fit. This can make the internship search process confusing, overwhelming, and directionless.
MyTern helps address this gap by presenting curated organizations and internship categories that are naturally aligned to students’ academic and career interests. The app currently focuses on organizations that have offered internships in the last three years or are currently offering opportunities, allowing students to explore companies that are active, relevant, and accessible. This gives students clarity on what roles exist, where opportunities are typically offered, and which organizations they can explore further.
Using MyTern is simple and requires only three steps:
Step 1 — Register
Students must register through the website using the registration form. Upon completing the registration, a unique User ID will be generated and emailed to the student.
Step 2 — Download the Desktop App
After registering, students can download the MyTern desktop application for their operating system (Windows or macOS). The app currently supports installation through a Windows .exe file and a macOS .zip file.
Step 3 — Login & Explore
Students can log in to the app using their User ID and start exploring organizations that have offered internships in the last three years or are currently offering opportunities. The app enables students to search, browse organizations, and visit company websites for further details.
